Summer Program 2011

Summer Program for Troubled Boys In Yellowstone Country

Entry Window June 1, 2011 – June 20, 2011

Heart Mountain New Beginnings offers a summer program for troubled adolescent boys  ages 12 to 17 with an emphasis on Christian values.  This is God’s country, and while away from the noise and distractions of more urban settings, a boy has the opportunity to rediscover his true self.

MORE THAN SUMMER “CAMP”

We camp, harvest hay, ride horses, drive cattle, fish, hike, climb mountains, explore caves, irrigate,  develop springs, and star gaze.  These are some of the “external” activities Heart Mountain New Beginnings offers. We focus just as much on the “internal” aspects of troubled boys and provide them the opportunity to explore their own hearts.  When boys this age go off course it is often because their behavior is in conflict with their values, leading to disharmony with their families and their true selves. Our staff, our counselors and program help these boys learn to choose behaviors that are  in accordance with Christian values.

We offer parent education classes for parents and we offer every boy the opportunity to complete the accredited academic courses (Teen Living, P.E., Character Strengths and Virtues 2.5 credits) we provide.

HMNB’s summer program is a condensed version of the first four levels of our year-round program.  A typical 40-day level will be condensed into 20 days for the parents, and this translates into a fee reduction.  If you  as a parent choose to have your son continue into HMNB’s long term program for the fall semester and you have completed your parent education classes you will start at the Ranahan tier level.
